The Institute for Biblical Preaching exists to strengthen the church in biblical preaching and leadership through mentoring, encouraging, and training pastors and church leaders.
Pastoral minstry is demanding and church leadership is challenging. Our desire is to support, encourage, and equip preachers and church leaders in the key areas of preaching, leadership, and spirituality so that they can fulfill their ministry with excellence and joy to the glory of God through the power of the Spirit.
The vision for this ministry originated with Dr. Stephen Olford, who was widely regarded as one of the world's leading practitioners and advocates of expository preaching. "As preaching goes, so goes the church," he once said. "Expository preaching is necessary," he said, "if the church is ever going to experience true revival."
IBP is a ministry to ministers. "Ministry to ministers is ministry to multitudes," Olford said.
The mission of IBP is to strengthen the christian church in biblical preaching and leadership. First, we want to strengthen the church by promoting, modelling, and teaching expository preaching and biblical leadership to pastors and church leaders. Second, we want to strengthen the church by stimulating and nourishing the spiritual life and growth of our church leaders. Third, we want to strengthen the church by mentoring, encouraging, counselling, and supporting church leaders to help them deal with the challenges of church ministry.
Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching" (2 Tm. 4:2, NKJV).
